Come pool the strings in Call-Shot-Dead !

Call-Shot-Dead is an experimental video game project by a team of 4 about the Goddesses of Destiny playing 8-pool with the destiny of pub-goers across the world ! In this game, you play as Clotho, the first Moira, traveling from one bar to the other with your sister Atropos in search of Lachesis, the third of your sisterhood. Since Lachesis is missing, it's getting difficult to know how to deal with the fate of mortals, so you've settled to do it through a game of 8-pool. In this godly billiard, each ball incarnates one aspect of the life of someone on death's door, and every collision will trigger a small prophecy about their future based on each colliding ball's theme. Of course, the 8 ball is the Health Ball : if you pocket it and win the game, the victim's life will be spared; but if your sister wins, then all prophecies will be for naught, as she will cut the victim's life thread here and there...

I still have no cue what this game is about...

The game plays like a standard top-down game of 8-pool in which you face the AI. Every turn, you strike the white ball in order to pocket your own balls. Once you’ve pocketed all of them, you do the same for the black ball, and you’ve won ! Of course, that’s not the gist of it. The twist lies at the end of the turn, where the game will display a custom prophecy for each collision you will have triggered during your turn.

How custom are they ? Well, they’re never twice the same ! Call-Shot-Dead features a unique procedural algorithm, always able to provide new stories !

That’s why we say our game offers a modular and procedural narration : modular because you choose in which order the story bits are generated, and procedural because the bits are written on the spot !

When you’ve finished your game, you will have written the whole future of a poor(?) soul, provided you’ve won...

What's the cloth of your game ?
